In the SCA, I am known as Cecilia Caterina da Firenze.  I am a 16th Century Florentine Lady, serving in the household of Cosimo de Medici. My family is one of the lesser nobility in Florence and I am married to an ambassador to the Holy Roman Empire who lives and works in Florence, Marcus Goltz.

My interests in the SCA include costuming, which for me goes more in depth than just sewing to include making jewelry, doing embroidery, looking at all the accessories to make the wearer look like they have stepped from a portrait. I have been interested in late period costuming since I joined the Society and began learning to sew in 2003. I am a self-taught seamstress and I am currently working on creating more historically accurate garments in their construction and embellishment. Over the last four years, I have done several pieces in the Venetian and Florentine styles.  I am also a scribe within the SCA and enjoy spending time doing calligraphy and illuminations. The purpose of this page is to keep track of some of the projects I have done over the years and to share knowledge as I learn, work, and grow.
